Navigating your Account

Get more acquainted with how to navigate to the different places in Learning Explorer, beginning with the navigation bar. 

The navigation bar is with you wherever you go on the site.

  • On the left is the logo and search tool. You can use the search bar to search for resources no matter where you are on the platform.

Note: Due to customization capabilities, you may see a different logo in your account.

  • The right side is broken down into three main menus: My Content, Discover, Help, and Your Name. Let’s look at these three menus in more detail.

Discover Menu

Hover over Discover to reveal a dropdown with four main resource areas. From here, you can easily jump from one area to the next. 

Discover Resources

  • Click on Discover Resources to launch the search page to search and filter all the learning resources in your learning object repository.
  • You can conduct one search across all the providers in your Learning Explorer account, including our Lesson Planet library of hundreds of thousands of educator-reviewed resources. Learn more about the search and filter tools in our Find Resources section.

Browse Resource Directory

  • Click on Browse Resource Directory to browse instructional resources by subject and topic. Learn more about browsing in our Find Resources section.


Curriculum Calendar

  • Click on Curriculum Calendar to explore curriculum resources by date.
  • You can find timely teaching topics around holidays, historic events, or significant figures. Click on any event to find a breadth of related teaching resources that will spark new ideas to spice up your daily lessons. Learn more about the Curriculum Calendar in our Find Resources section.

Where do I Start?

  1. Familiarize yourself with your account.
  2. Refer to the Help Center when you are having trouble or need a refresher on a topic.
  3. Watch our help video tutorials at any time.

  4. Attend a training session

  5. Familiarize yourself with navigating each section described above.

  6. Get comfortable with searching and filtering. Try conducting several searches and play with the filters.

  7. Build a collection, and then edit it.

  8. Save a resource and then access it in your curriculum manager.

  9. Set up your Google Classroom with your Learning Explorer account.
